MilieuOS — for residential treatment
It's 7:14 AM.
You don't know where to be.
MilieuOS is a calm, facility-aware guide for residential treatment patients — and the quiet visibility staff needs.
No signup. Step into a patient's view, then a counselor's.
The problem
Most treatment centers go quiet at lights-out.
The phone is what's left in the patient's hand. The Googling. The texts to people who shouldn't hear from them. The 2 AM doom-scroll. The slow drift back toward old places.
The answer
Now the phone is grounded in your handbook.
Ask anything. The AI is trained on your facility's rules and schedule — not WebMD, not Reddit, not the open internet. Every answer carries a citation back to the exact line of your handbook.
When a question is harder than logistics, MilieuOS doesn't try to be a therapist. It quietly opens the door to staff.
The hard moment
Some nights, an answer isn't what's needed.
When a patient taps “I'd like staff to check in,” their counselor knows in seconds. Not in tomorrow's notes. Not in next week's chart.
Patient — Marcus
Counselor — Dana
For staff
Staff don't read 14 charts to know who's struggling tonight.
They see four patients whose night was hard, in priority order. Acknowledge. Resolve. Move on. Everything audited. Nothing surfaced that the patient didn't consent to share.

Trust
Trained on your handbook.
Not the open web.
Upload your house rules, schedule, and policies once. Every answer is grounded in your handbook and links back to the original section — so patients know it's coming from your floor, not a search result you didn't write.
PHONES
Phone use
Phones are kept with you. During groups and meals they stay put away. Free time and evenings until 9pm are open.
EMERGENCIES
If something feels wrong
Find any staff member, or call the on-call line at the nurse station. You will not get in trouble for asking for help.
Honest framing
What MilieuOS isn't.
Not a therapist.
The product never tries to do therapy.
Not a doctor.
Medication and medical questions route to nursing staff.
Not a crisis hotline.
High-risk messages route patients to find any staff member immediately, and notify staff through MilieuOS.
Not your EHR.
We don't replace your clinical record.
Not a replacement for the humans who run your floor.
The product is calm scaffolding. Your team is the care.
Not a black box.
Every AI response, every alert, every action is audited.
Built for clinical trust
The foundation under the floor.
A calm UI is half the work. The other half is what you don't see — the consent boundary, the encrypted store, the audit chain. We wrote those first.
Per-scope patient consent.
Patients toggle what they share — reminders, raw journals — separately. Default off. Reviewable any time from their phone.
Encrypted at rest.
Journal entries are Fernet-encrypted in the database. A backup leak doesn't expose what patients wrote. Keys rotate without downtime.
Append-only audit log.
Every login, alert, message, and consent change is recorded with actor, time, and request ID. The application cannot alter or delete the trail.
Minimum necessary by default.
Staff never see raw journal text. Counselors only when the patient explicitly grants it. Alerts redact the source body.
Graceful AI failure.
If the language model is unreachable, MilieuOS flags the message for a human instead of going silent. Calm degradation, not opaque outage.
BAA on the path.
Codebase is HIPAA-aligned. Production deploy waits on hosting + DPA with the LLM vendor — clear, documented gates, not vague promises.
Where we are
We are pre-pilot. Looking for two or three partners.
The product is built and live for demos today. Production hosting and a Business Associate Agreement are the gates remaining before MilieuOS can carry real patient health information. If you run a residential SUD program and want to be one of the first to deploy MilieuOS on your floor, write to us. Being early means pricing, voice, and product fit are still yours to shape.
See it from both sides.
Spend ninety seconds in a patient's view, then a counselor's. Nothing to install. No signup. No card.
