For facilities
A calmer floor in 30 days.
MilieuOS is a phone-first orientation and engagement layer for residential treatment centers that let patients keep their phones. Patients get a calm, facility-aware guide. Staff get quiet, prioritized visibility into who needs help and why.
What patients get
- A calm Today screen. Next event, where to be, how long they have.
- Ask anything. Grounded in your facility's rules — not the internet. Citations to your own handbook.
- An overwhelm flow. Box-breathing + a one-tap "I'd like staff to check in."
- Private journal. Raw entries stay private. Counselors only see theme summaries.
- Worksheets. Sleep checks, mood checks, whatever you assign. Consent-gated sharing.
What staff get
- A pulse, not a feed. Who's disengaged today, who's asking for help, who tripped a safety rule.
- Repeated-questions clusters. Surface what's confusing the milieu — fix it once, in your handbook.
- One-tap alert handling. Ack, resolve, or dismiss. Everything audited.
- CSV exports. Shift summary and audit log for documentation.
What we do not do
- We are not a therapist, doctor, emergency service, or crisis hotline.
- We do not replace your clinical team or your EHR.
- We do not surface raw journal text to staff by default.
- We do not give medical or medication advice — those questions route to nursing staff.
Foundation
- Patients control sharing per scope. Schedule reminders and raw journal access are separate toggles; default off; reviewable any time.
- Journal text is encrypted at rest. Fernet keys; documented rotation procedure; a backup leak doesn't expose patient writing.
- Append-only audit log. Every login, alert, message, consent change recorded with actor, time, request ID. Quarterly retention pruning is supported.
- Minimum necessary by default. Staff see theme summaries, not raw entries. Counselors see raw only with explicit patient consent.
- Graceful AI failure. If the language model is unreachable, a message gets flagged for a human instead of going silent.
Where we are
MilieuOS is in pre-pilot today. The product is built and live for demos. Production hosting and a Business Associate Agreement are the gates remaining before we can carry real patient health information.
If you run a residential SUD program and want to be part of the first pilot, write to us — we're looking for two to three partners.
